Mission, Vision, and Beliefs

Our mission is to reach out to irreligious people with the love of God and teach them to be fully devoted followers of Christ (Matthew 28:19, 20).

Our vision is that using God's Great Means we will live out the Great Mandate (Matthew 22:37-39) and carry out the Great Mission (Matthew 28:19-20) so as to have a Great Ministry (Acts 2:42-47).

What We Believe

Our sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears.  The Bible teaches there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of Deity.

God created human beings to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way, which ends in death.  As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from Him.  Salvation comes only through God's grace as a free gift of God received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, God from eternity who became one of us through His birth from the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sins by dying on the cross for us.  This gained salvation for all who receive it by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only Mediator between us and God.  He will return to earth to conclude all things and reign forever.

The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ, creates faith in our hearts, and equips believers for personal growth and service to God.  Baptism and the Lord's Supper are sacraments whereby God gives His forgiveness and presence.  The church's role is to glorify God and make His saving love known to all.  In the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and judgment.  Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.  To learn much more about the basics of the Christian faith, consider attending our doctrine and church membership class called "Firm Foundations."

• God works through His Word and when it is proclaimed and taught it brings about transformation in individual lives and the church.
  This includes the concepts of law and gospel, teaching for life change.

• God desires all to be saved, and God has chosen His Church to be His redeeming agent in the world, therefore the church must do all it can to reach the lost.
  This includes the concepts of mission focus, cultural relevancy and evangelism training.

• A church should operate as a unified community of servants with every member understanding and stewarding their spiritual gifts, financial resources, and time for the building of God's Kingdom.
  This includes the concepts of unity, servanthood, equipping the saints and stewardship.

• Loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
  This includes the concepts of love-led ministry, teamwork, conflict resolution, relationship building, and small groups.

• Christ-followers manifest a desire for continued growth toward full devotion to Christ.
  This includes the concepts of growth in the Word, personal authenticity, and character, servanthood, and pursuit of Kingdom goals.

• Our utmost brings glory to God and inspires people.
  This includes the concepts of excellence in all things, critical review, and evaluation.

Becoming a Member

• The Beginning: Worship
  Celebrate together: "Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." (Colossians 3:16)
  We celebrate God's love in Jesus Christ.  We receive teaching, encouragement, and empowerment.  We have opportunity to receive the Lord's Supper; we experience Jesus' dynamic presence in our midst as we come before God in corporate and public worship.
• Firm Foundations: Faith Development
  Becoming a member: "Built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." (Ephesians 2:20)
  The Firm Foundation (adult membership) class is designed to help those who have a personal faith relationship with Jesus Christ lay a strong foundation of basic Christian truth and spiritual discipline to help facilitate continued spiritual growth.
  After completing this course, those who desire are received into membership.  We believe that your church membership is in itself a profession of your faith and, therefore, should be taken seriously.
