Technical Arts Team

As one of the many activities completed by the Sunday Servant Team, this activity adds to the effectiveness and impact of each worship service by providing smooth operation of our audio-visual equipment.

The Technical Arts group operates the sound, lighting, screen projection, and video recording in the sanctuary. For normal worship services the team operates three stations: soundboard, video cameras and mixer, and computer showing projection slides.

Responsibilities include:

Soundboard operator turns microphones on and off and adjusts volume levels to main speakers, monitor speakers, and video recording.

Camera operator adjusts cameras and selects camera or projector that is streamed and recorded.

Computer operator advances PowerPoint slides that are projected.

  • One or two team members need to come early for song leader rehearsal and to prepare equipment for operation.

  • Special services or events may also need team members to operate sound, lighting, and video equipment.

  • Attending some rehearsals could be needed.

  • We would like enough team members (perhaps 6 or 9) that two or three sub teams can be created to staff worship services on a rotating basis.

No experience is needed, just a willingness to learn. Instruction will be provided by the present team and there are also on-line tutorials for operating some of the equipment.

Stop by the sound and video booth after a worship service if you just want to take a look and chat about what the team does.
