Framework shaping up

The framework of the church really started to take shape the last three weeks of August 2002.

Once the 12-foot wood walls were up, the attic floor and walls were erected. The classrooms and corridor were recognizable, as was the front entrance. Several father and daughter teams were photographed working together. A large banner sign was placed on a trailer parked at the edge of the hill to proudly announce the church construction to traffic on the highway. Scaffolding was assembled and used to erect the 20-foot steel walls of the sanctuary.

Some Laborers for Christ members that had been working on the site had to leave for home, but a few more came. One of these, a retired pastor - Rev. Charles Litterer, brought his own steel cutting saw and cut a majority of the steel studs used in the sanctuary walls.
