1. What's your name?

Teresa Siebel

2. Will you please share a little about yourself?

I was born and raised in WV.  I love it here and would never want to live anywhere else.  I met my Husband, Jim, in 1988.  We were married in 1990 and will celebrate our 30th anniversary this year!  I worked for the State for 26 years.  First at the WV State Police, then Military Authority (WV National Guard) and back to the State Police, where I worked 3 more years as Part-time.  I worked alternately in Accounting and Benefits.   I retired for good in December of last year and love it.  I have two children, Rusty and Julie, and have 5 Grandchildren between them. My oldest Granddaughter is an RN at Cabell Huntington Hospital and is planning her wedding for next year!  We have a Beagle, Munchkin, who we rescued in 2004.  I tell Jim she will outlive us.

3. How long have you been attending/serving at Redeemer?

We have been coming to Redeemer going on 24 years.

Teresa and her husband, Jim.

4. In what ways do you or have you serve(d) at Redeemer and which is/was your favorite way?

Some of the ways I have served over the years was in the Nursery, as a Greeter/Usher, Board of Stewardship for several years, Recording Secretary and in the Choir.  Most recently on the Goal Tenders Committee, Hospitality, Guest Connection and currently Financial Secretary.  Serving on the Board of Stewardship was the most rewarding and educational for me in that I came to realize how important our gifts and talents are to further God's Kingdom.

5. How has serving at Redeemer impacted you?

Serving at Redeemer has taken me out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing.  It has made me be unafraid of trying different things.  Using my God given talents by serving in different ways has strengthened my faith and taught me what it means to be a servant for God.

6. What’s something about you not many folks know?

Jim and I started Kayaking last Spring and we love it.

7. What do you like most about Redeemer?

I never really understood what it meant to be a Christian until I started attending the Lutheran Church. Hearing the the Gospel message every week, the friendliness, and fellowship is truly Help, Hope, and especially, Home in the Body of Christ.
